Air interface

Air interface is the medium between an RF transponder and an RFID reader through which the communicated information travels.[1] The technology used for the radio transmission between base station and mobile units in a wireless network.[2]

Also called a "radio interface," the air interface primarily defines the frequency, channel bandwidth and modulation scheme.[3]
