Loading dock

A loading dock is the sorting or staging platform where shipments are loaded or unloaded. See also loading dock equipment[1]
Loading docks are typically designed for utilitarian functions. They require space for large trucks, forklifts, and other material handling vehicles and equipment. In many cases, loading dock areas also include office space for supervisors or managers.[2]
