Industrial Truck Association
From wikiMHEDA
The Industrial Truck Association (ITA) is an association of lift truck manufacturers and suppliers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In addition to lift trucks, ITA members manufacture tow tractors, rough terrain vehicles, hand-pallet trucks and automated guided vehicles.
History
ITA‘s roots date back to 1917. It has undergone many changes over the years, including a first incorporation as the Industrial Truck Statistical Association in 1929. The current structure was established in 1951. ITA was instrumental in securing revisions of the operator training regulation enforced by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which have helped reduce the number and severity of accidents and resulted in saving lives.[1]
