Republic of Namibia, Africa – U.S. ambassador to Namibia Dennise Mathieu turned over the newly-renovated state-of-the-art ARV medical warehouse facility at the Central Medical Stores to Richard Kamwi, minister of health and social services.

USAID’s Supply Chain Management Systems Project (SCMS), which is funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), undertook the task of renovating and improving the ministry’s Central Medical Stores over the past few months. The result is a newly renovated, state-of-the-art warehouse and drug management system.

As part of its renovations, SCMS installed special racking systems both at the main and peripheral warehouses. Along with the refurbished warehouse, SCMS also has contributed new stock handling equipment—pallets, pallet jacks, trolley, pallet stackers and a forklift vehicle to ensure that the warehouse staff may be more effective and efficient.
