Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India – A French chemical company has developed a self-healing rubber that can be used to make conveyor belts.

The material is made from plant oil and urea developed using supramolecular chemistry, a branch of chemistry which enables major enhancements in everyday applications. As a result, when the rubber is broken or cracked, it can be repaired simply by applying light pressure at room temperature.
