Philadelphia, PA – The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia reported the best performance for the U.S. manufacturing sector since September.

The Philadelphia Fed said East Coast manufacturing and production firms reported improved numbers for June in terms of new orders, production activity and shipments.

The Philly Fed’s manufacturing index came in at minus 2.2, while May’s index was minus 22.6. The index has been in the negative range for 18 of the past 19 months, with the exception of September 2008.
