Paul Evanko, senior vice president of St. Onge Co., will lecture on ways for companies to implement cost-effective and sustainable practices at the North American Material Handling Logistics Tradeshow (NA 2010) seminar on April 26, from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in Theater A, http://www.nashow.com.

His presentation, "Cost Effective Sustainability Initiatives for Supply Chain Efficiency," deals with the growing recognition that sustainability practices are the new reality of the corporate world.

"Executives in the corporate ranks are seeking to find ways to introduce and maximize sustainable practices throughout their companies," says Evanko. "This important and fundamental change reaches out to a wide range of operations including supply chain strategy, logistics operations, distribution center design and related material handling operations."

Evanko's presentation will focus on sharing cost-effective sustainable ideas for supply chain strategy and logistics operations and for distribution center design and related material handling operations.

"While theory is important, my presentation will include real-world applications to issues that confront those who face supply chain challenges," Evanko says. This includes:

• How to integrate network optimization, high efficiency transportation equipment, best operational practices, and packaging to dramatically reduce fuel consumption and fleet mileage.
• Demonstrate how to combine green building materials, state-of- the-art energy management systems and LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) best practices to create high performance facilities that deliver savings and sustainability.

Evanko has more than 30 years of experience in line distribution management and related operations research for the control and design of warehousing, transportation, traffic and distribution support functions.
