Logistics Firm to Create 250 Jobs
- 3/8/2010A start-up logistics firm announced today its hopes to create 250 jobs from its headquarters and distribution operations, according to a statement from an economic development board.
The company s2f worldwide LLC provides transportation, management, warehousing and distribution services. It will invest $10.8M to lease and equip 200,000 square feet in a distribution center and office near Indianapolis International Airport, with the new jobs in place by 2013, according to the statement from Indiana Economic Development Corp. Indiana's governor heads the 12-member board.
Gov. Mitch Daniels said in the statement, "Plainfield continues to be among the top choices anywhere for businesses like s2f to grow and expand."
The company plans to begin hiring supervisory and warehouse associates in April in preparation for the anticipated commencement of operations by June.
Randall J. Lewis is president of s2f worldwide. He left an executive job at WellPoint Inc. in August. Lewis also is one of the members of the Central Indiana Transit Task Force.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered s2f up to $2M in performance-based tax credits and up to $45,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans, the statement said. The town of Plainfield will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership.
