Kaman Acquires Allied Bearing
- 3/1/2010Kaman Industrial Technologies (KIT) has acquired two distributors: Fawick de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (Fawick) of Mexico City, Mexico, and Allied Bearings Supply Co. of Tulsa, Okla.
Fawick, a distributor of fluid power and lubrication products, equipment and systems, will become part of Delamac de Mexico, Kaman's Industrial Distribution Mexican subsidiary. It has annual sales of $3.9 million.
Of the acquisition, T. Jack Cahill, president of Kaman Industrial Technologies says, "Fawick de Mexico provides a perfect product expansion to the bearings and power transmission platform we already have in Mexico...and the addition of this business is evidence of our continued interest in increasing our presence." KIT already has five branch locations in Mexico.
Allied, a distributor of bearings, power transmission, material handling and industrial supplies, will become part of KIT, Kaman's Industrial Distribution segment. It has annual sales of $22 million. In addition to Tulsa, the company also has branches in Oklahoma City, Pryor, Ponca City, Ardmore and Muskogee, Okla.; Fort Smith, Ark and Houston.
"This acquisition reinforces our stated commitment to balance organic growth with strategic acquisitions the help us to increase our scale and fill out our geographic footprint," says Cahill.
With $777 million in annual sales, Kaman Industrial Technologies is 15th on the Big 50 list of industrial distributors for 2009.
