House Democrats recently introduced the Protecting America's Workers Act, a bill that would increase OSHA violations fines from a maximum of $70,000 to $120,000. The bill would also create a new felony category for criminal violations, cover more workers, add protection for workers who disclose unsafe practices and give workers and their families an avenue for challenging reductions in OSHA fines.
