Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. won a $1.09 billion contract from GMR Energy to build a coal-fired power plant in India, its largest overseas order since May 2007.

The power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh will have a capacity of 1,370 megawatt, Doosan Heavy, South Korea’s biggest power-equipment maker, said today in an e-mailed statement. Construction is due to be completed in the second half of 2013.
