Crown Battery has announced that it is increasing its SLI battery manufacturing capacity by 30 percent. The expansion will create up to 30 new jobs at Crown's existing facility. New jobs at the Fremont plant include assemblers, quality assurance technicians and engineers.

To ramp up production, Crown is adding a fifth assembly line that will operate on a two 10-hour shift basis. The new line includes automated work cells and advanced material handling systems and will be housed in the company’s existing 225,000 sq. ft. Fremont plant.
