The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reports that overall conveyor industry billed sales (shipments) for the first 6 months of 2009 decreased 18.8% compared to the same period in 2008, with total shipments of $3.18 billion. CEMA estimates industry orders (bookings) of $2.89 billion in the same period.

In the Bulk Conveying area, orders were down 25% and shipments were down 14%.

Unit Handling orders were down 26% and shipments were down 23%. CEMA tracks new orders and shipped sales volume in seven classes of unit handling equipment and five classes of bulk handling equipment.
