Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK – Barloworld Handling is set to open eight regional showrooms throughout the UK to display used forklift trucks.

The range includes a variety of machines from pallet trucks to large container handling trucks.

Neil Edwards, equipment remarketing manager at Barloworld, says, “During the current downturn, businesses are looking to reduce costs and get the very best value from their investments. So it’s no surprise to see many of them opting for approved used forklifts rather than new.”

However, he warns against buying used trucks on the open market just because they are cheap.

“Cheap trucks supplied without servicing or quality testing might seem like a better deal initially, but can prove unreliable and this can lead to unproductive downtime through breakdowns, expensive parts replacements, additional servicing and can even constitute a safety risk that could lead to criminal prosecution.”

The showrooms are now open at Barloworld’s regional facilities in Cumbernauld, Warrington, West Bromwich, Doncaster, Leeds, Gateshead, Maidenhead and Thurrock.
