Jefferson, GA – Aldi Group is seeking approval to build a giant regional distribution center to serve its 20 locations throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. Aldi owns 85 acres in Jackson County, where it plans to build a 482,233-sq.-ft. warehouse, with the potential to expand to 780,849 sq. ft.

“We plan to begin construction as soon as possible,” says Martha Swaney, a spokeswoman for Aldi’s US operations. She also says the building process is expected to take a year and a half following approval of development of regional impact status by Jefferson officials.

The Aldi warehouse is among several large industrial projects throughout the Atlanta market.
