Chicago, IL -- The ASA Education Foundation has awarded its first Essentials of Profitable Warehouse Operations certificate of completion to William Myers of APR Supply Company, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Myers, who works in counter sales at one of their branch locations, is the first student to pass the final exam and earn his certificate.

The course emphasizes the team approach with a focus on the orderly flow of materials from receiving through stocking, picking, packaging and delivery. Critical concerns such as safety and security are also covered and the course ends with examples of continuous improvements and how the employee can grow as a distribution professional.

"This course was a real eye-opener for me,” said Myers. “It showed me how important things like safety, inventory control, protecting the property and avoiding mistakes really are. Now, when I work, everything makes sense."
